Cottage Watch is exactly what it sounds like…we watch out for your cottage when you can’t. Severe weather is becoming more commonplace each year and insurance companies normally require cottage owners to monitor their properties all year round (sometimes as often as every 3 or 4 days) to guarantee coverage for damages.
Your peace of mind comes from knowing that a professional, insured company will watch over your cottage during the off-season [Mid-October through End-April] and provide you with regular detailed reports.
Available separately or in combination with Winter Maintenance, Cottage Watch service consists of a “Circle Check” of your cottage and property allowing you to satisfy your insurer’s requirements and rest easy through the winter. Scheduled checks are made throughout the off-season independent of snow plowing visits. Unscheduled Storm Checks are also available following extreme weather events. All checks are made by the owner Dave Carr personally.
CIRCLE CHECK ITEMS
Perimeter grounds [downed trees or power lines, flooding/wash-outs, signs of trespassing, landscape damages]
Exterior of buildings [doors/windows/roof for unlawful entry or vandalism, animal intrusion, snow loads, weather damages]
If you have an alarm system we can act as the listed local contact for the alarm company to call if the alarm goes off. In the unlikely event of an emergency (ex. Break and enter, water damage, etc…) we can act as a liaison to local contractors to fix the problem or can contact the OPP if you are unavailable to do so.
Pricing is based on the frequency of Circle Check visits during the month invoiced, and the proximity of your cottage to our location in Kagawong on the Island.
The Base Rate is $15/visit and the travel cost is $0.15/km round-trip. Services are invoice monthly at month-end.
